Bremen Work Of Art Nears Completion
|
BREMEN,
OH – The 10’ x 45’ Bremen Downtown Revitalization
mural, depicting Bremen at its best, will be completed
this week. It is located on the west-facing wall
on the corner of Main St. and Broad St. in the downtown
commercial district.
Melody Borchers, Bremen Downtown Revitalization
Project Manager, said “Bremen’s town mural is a
work of art depicting a ‘street scene’ that includes
several elements of the Village of Bremen. The message
of the mural tells its visitors, olde Bremen Village
is a great place to live, worship, shop and visit.
I’m thrilled that the unveiling of the mural kicks
off our revitalization efforts.” The mural was entirely
paid for by private funds raised by the Downtown
Volunteer Corp. Contributions came from local businesses,
organizations and citizens.
The muralist, Matt Indrutz, is the owner of Muralworks,
a full-service art studio specializing in custom,
hand-painted surfaces. Matt graduated from Columbus
College of Art & Design, and has had murals
featured in the Powell Area Chamber of Commerce
Tour of Homes, “The VERB” mural at Polaris Fashion
Place and has also done restoration work at Saint
Patrick Church in London, Ohio.
Everyone involved in the project hopes that the
mural will attract tourists and encourage people
to appreciate Bremen’s history and vision for the
future. Troy Tripp, Downtown Volunteer Corp, is
confident that the Bremen mural will help boost
community pride, along with tourism, by providing
enjoyment of its beauty.
