Bremen Downtown Barrels are in Bloom again this summer

The Downtown barrels in Bremen are blooming again this year thanks to the dedication of the Bremen Rushcreek Fire Department and D&S Greenhouses located just out side Bremen. The Bremen Barrel project was started two years ago by the Bremen Downtown Volunteer Corps. using donations collected by the organization. Currently there are 11 barrels downtown. The flowers downtown really brighten up Bremen's Historic Downtown District and if it were not for Dave with D&S Greenhouses donating the flowers and the volunteer firefighters with the Bremen-Rushcreek fire department watering the barrels daily through the week, this project would not be possible. If you see Fire Chief Joe Westenbarger or any of the volunteer firefighters please thank them for their commitment to this project and service to our community.

Bremen Masonic Lodge members sponsored the June 3rd Downtown Work Day in Bremen's Historic Downtown District.

A special thanks goes to the Bremen Masonic Lodge brothers for donating their time and talents painting and restoring a faded store front of the Shellhammer Building in downtown Bremen. The project was identified by the Bremen Downtown Volunteer Corp. based on the condition of the front facade and its visibility in the district. The Bremen Chamber of Commerce helped provide the supplies, the Bremen Lodge provided the volunteers and the Millers, owners of the Pizza Station provided a great lunch for the workers. Shawn Carder, Danny Williams, Ed Pool and Troy Tripp all helped with the project. The project cost $125.00 and took 4 guys a total of 20 hours to complete.

Be a part of future work days in Bremen's Historic Downtown District. Workdays are always the first Saturday morning of each month starting at 8:00 am. Future work days are as follows: July 1st, August 5th, September 2nd, and October 7th.
